If I go there will be trouble…

Now then.

It’s all becoming a bit unsavoury.   I’ve very mixed feelings about the Barry transfer largely due to two of our closest friends, and creators of our excellent sister*-blog ‘Oh, It Must Be! It Is!‘ being ardent Villa fans.

Having your club captain (and fan favourite) openly criticise your manager and publically state his intention to join a rival team cannot be easy reading, and given the paper printing the story he’s hardly endearing himself to Liverpool fans either.

What a grand mess. We don’t seem to want to keep him, and Liverpool can’t afford him. Sigh.

I think it’s looking increasingly certain we’ll get him now. Possibly for a bit less than £18 million or via some player plus cash deal.

The big question now is how well he can adapt to a new club, the weight of expectation at Anfield is quite different to Villa and we still don’t know for certain where Rafa intends to play him.

I am quite liking Rafa’s new policy of targetting the best players from our 4th place rivals. At the start of the summer it was Bentley. Today’s gossip columns suggest Robbie Keane.
